Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American producer stage and screen actor best recognized for her roles in films for the movie Ray Undercover Brother and on the series on television The Mentalist. She holds a BA in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis is an actor, writer as well as an actress in film, theater as well as television. She began her career as a theatre actress later on, she went on to play in a variety of television series, mainstream and independent films. The actress gained fame as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and was a part of BET's epic series The Book of Negroes for which she won high praise but also numerous nominations and awards including a Television Critics Choice Award nomination for the Best Actress in a Movie. Her professional acting debut in the role of Ariel on the stage in The Tempest in 1995. The actress has appeared in Broadway in Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. The film work she has done is appreciated for films such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. Her role as a regular on ABC's drama-police series High Incident earned her praises.
